Private Health Rebates for Pilates
Gradually, the private health insurance companies are starting to become more and more 'Pilates friendly' in their approach to recognising high quality non-physiotherapy Pilates providers. The following information will hopefully help you determine whether or not your are eligible to claim your Pilates with us back through your private health insurance policy and give you some guidance in the best steps to follow.
Steps to apply for a rebate
1. Look at the table below for the Private Health Fund list
2. If your health fund is listed below and you have the appropriate policy inclusions, contact us at head office to tell us your Private Health Fund name and we will develop an appropriate receipt for services for you to supply to your fund.
3. If your fund is not listed, contact your fund directly to ask about eligibility. Ensure that they understand you are being instructed by a Pilates Instructor and NOT a Physiotherapist as they are listed differently. You are working with instructors who are nationally accredited and who are members of the industry peak body, Pilates Alliance Australasia.
Our tip is to be persistent with your fund as private health insurance companies can often recognise Pilates as a provider stream but their employees can be a little in the dark about the details.
