Industry Qualification Information

Joseph Pilates created the original Pilates revolutionary method around 1918, at the start of World War I. Now after nearly a century of progression, the Pilates method is stronger than ever and continues to give amazing results for people of all ages and body types. When entering into the Pilates industry and looking to choose the most suitable qualification for you, it can be helpful to understand the industry itself and where Pilates instructor training courses sit within this network.
Professional educators are absolutely essential to ensure training is delivered to exceed industry standard. The course materials for both qualifications has been developed by Sally Anderson who is world renowned as a Pilates head of industry as the director of Pilates International and the president of Pilates Alliance Australasia. Both the Certificate IV and Diploma courses have been through a vigorous audit process through governing bodies such as the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) in Western Australia.
Both qualifications are nationally recognised and competency based with comprehensive and varied assessment strategies for making sure that you are able to successfully apply the knowledge and skills you receive in your course.
Registering with PFIWA to undertake our accredited courses will ensure that you are able to freely seek employment throughout Australia as a Pilates instructor where potential employers will immediately recognise and acknowledge your certifications.
Either of these qualifications will also enable you to become a member with reputable Pilates associations such as Pilates Alliance Australasia. Membership to one of these Pilates associations makes up part of the base criteria for application with private health care companies as a registered Pilates provider, which is a highly desirable asset to attain as a Pilates instructor.
