Pilates Beginners Technique Course
"The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power." Joseph Pilates
Our highly instructive Beginners Pilates Courses will introduce you to the Pilates technique in an intimate, safe and enjoyable group setting. During your lessons you will gradually build your strength and flexibility to the level where you can join our ongoing timetable classes, the improvement you will feel in such a short amount of time is truly amazing!
The class environment at PFIWA during your Beginner Technique Course is always non-intimidating and very interactive. Your instructor greets you personally, takes into account your individual background and will teach you how the Pilates method can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
In any pilates class it is important to remember that perfect technique is the key to quick results. Perfect technique is far more important than taking a harder variation on an exercise. In fact you will get better results by taking a lower variation and executing it perfectly.
PFIWA instructors are always focused on your results, and in order to achieve these, it is important we know how your body is feeling. You will develop a new mind-body connection, learning to wholly concentrate on the purpose of each exercise and the muscles being challenged.

“With body, mind and spirit functioning perfectly as a coordinated whole, what else could reasonably be expected other than an active, alert, disciplined person?”Joseph Pilates
Our Pilates classes are suitable for all ages - the exercises are intentionally designed with several variations to allow for higher and lower levels of current fitness. Our different class styles cater well for our male and female clients, some classes being more powerful than others, ensuring all clients can progress forward as they build strength and flexibility.
We certainly don’t expect everyone to have perfect technique at first. Even the elite athletes who take our classes must practice to maintain correct form. This perfect posture and balanced body view offered by Pilates, is essential to developing your muscles uniformly, while guarding against any injuries. At PFIWA, we will assist you in varying your workout to ensure you are training at your maximum capacity within your current limitations, therefore delivering your personal goals, faster.

Private Pilates at PFIWA is on offer to cater for those who find their schedule doesn’t allow for the group beginner or introductory courses. If you are unable to attend all of the set days in the group courses, you can choose to schedule your own sessions with a private instructor. All you need is four sessions of one on one instruction to learn the basics before you can join the ongoing class timetable.
If you have extensive Pilates knowledge and have previously trained at another studio, you can also choose to do private classes to gain your beginners equivalent. You may not need the full four hours of tuition, as a novice would, however it is required that a PFIWA instructor has at least one hour of instruction with you. The instructor will decide if you require the full four hours.
Private classes are also a great option for those who feel they would like more one on one attention.
If you don't have time in your busy schedule for a Beginners Technique Course, or you would prefer one on one instruction, click here to find out about our Private Pilates options.
