Movement.
Our Scoliosis-specific Pilates programs are designed to support strength, alignment and confidence through tailored, three-dimensional movement. Guided by specialist instructors, each session is adapted to your unique spinal curves to improve posture, reduce discomfort and help you move with greater ease in everyday life.
Private Studio Appointments
Private 1:1 Studio appointments provide highly individualised, scoliosis-specific Pilates tailored to your unique spinal shape, history and needs. Each session is guided by a specially trained instructor who takes time to understand your curve pattern, movement habits, symptoms and goals, applying this insight with care, precision and clinical reasoning.
Using specialised Pilates equipment and scoliosis-informed programming, your sessions are thoughtfully designed to address asymmetry, support spinal organisation, build strength where it’s needed and encourage more efficient, confident movement. Your program evolves alongside you — supporting pain management, functional capacity, postural awareness and long-term spinal health. Whether you are newly diagnosed, managing pain, post-surgical, or seeking ongoing support, 1:1 appointments offer a calm, focused space to move safely, intentionally and with confidence in your body.
Small Group Studio Appointments
Small Group Studio appointments offer scoliosis-specific Pilates within a shared studio environment, combining individualised programming with the support and energy of a small group. Each participant works from their own personalised program, designed around their unique curve pattern, body and goals, while being closely guided by a specially trained instructor.
This format supports the development of confidence, body awareness and independence over time, while ensuring movements remain safe, considered and appropriate for scoliosis. Small group sessions provide a sustainable and supportive pathway following private 1:1 appointments, balancing expert oversight with the motivation and connection that comes from moving alongside others.
Available as Duos (2:1) for training with a friend or family member, or Trios (3:1) via our studio timetable, these sessions offer a structured yet connected way to continue your scoliosis-specific Pilates journey.
How it works.
1. Begin with an Advanced Assessment.
Your journey begins with our Studio Intro Pass, which includes a 90-minute one-on-one Advanced Assessment and two private appointments. During this process, your instructor will review your spinal curves, health history, goals, and any supporting X-rays, EOS scans, or reports to gain a thorough understanding of your body and create a strategic, personalised plan for your optimal spinal care.
2. Move through a personalised program.
Based on your assessment, your instructor guides you through a program tailored to your body, health and goals.
Every session is delivered in the studio, allowing your program to be supported, adjusted, and refined in real time — with expert guidance at every step.
3. Progress in the way that suits you.
As you build strength and confidence, we’ll recommend the best next step whether that’s ongoing private sessions, small-group Pilates or transitioning into group classes when appropriate. We suggest a minimum 6-week commitment to allow for meaningful change.
Who is Scoliosis Pilates for?
Scoliosis Pilates is suitable for anyone with a spinal curve who wants to move more comfortably, build strength, and improve posture. It’s ideal for people of all ages — whether you’re newly diagnosed, have lived with scoliosis for years, or have had treatments such as bracing or spinal fusion. This specialised approach is perfect for anyone looking for personalised guidance to manage discomfort, increase body awareness, and gain confidence in movement both inside and outside the studio.
What is Scoliosis Specific Pilates?
Scoliosis-Specific Pilates is a specialised form of Pilates that adapts every exercise to an individual’s unique spinal curves. Rather than working the body symmetrically, it uses three-dimensional movement, targeted strengthening and corrective breathing to support alignment, stability and functional movement for people with scoliosis.
-
Using the principles of the Scolio-Pilates Method®, we focus on elongating and decompressing your spinal curves before strengthening in the new alignment.
-
You’ll notice a taller posture, reduced rotation, and movement that feels smoother, less stiff, and more comfortable.
-
Every spine is different. Exercises are tailored to your needs and are based on your unique curvatures, helping you gain awareness and control of your body so you can apply these principles beyond the studio.
-
No matter your age, or whether you’ve had scoliosis treatments like bracing or spinal fusion, our Scolio-Pilates® programs are designed to help improve your strength, alignment, and overall quality of life.
-
All of our instructors hold Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas through PilatesITC and have completed further specialised training in Scolio-Pilates®. They are trained to read EOS scans and understand the unique complexities of your scoliosis, ensuring every session is precise and effective.
